Progress update

30th Sep 2007

Apologies for the delay in posting an update and for the overall lack of progress with the website, we are now back on track and this update contains information about the meetings held on Wednesday and forthcoming Q&A sessions with local councilors and the Diocese.

A fantastic turnout

A massive thanks to all those who attended our first Action Group meetings on Wednesday ... the turnout was great and the input from everyone was fantastic.

Question time

One of the main purposes of the meetings was to collate a list of questions and concerns that we wanted to put to our local councilors. That document has now been created (available below) and has been forwarded onto the councilors in advance of our meeting with them on Tues 2nd Oct (7pm at the Village Hall).

It was also confirmed, by Mrs Swales, that Sheila Bamber, Director of Education for the Diocese, has agreed to come and have a meeting with us. This is to be at the school on Wednesday 3rd October at 6pm and it is an open meeting, so parents and residents alike are welcome.

Until now we have had very little information from the Diocese, so we welcome the chance to hear directly what their stance is with regards to the proposed closure. A lot of concerns raised at the meetings were based around the fact that there is not another faith school in the area.
