Boldon C of E Primary School
'Save Our School' campaign
Saving the little school with a big heart (and a bigger voice!)
11th Oct 2007
Laminated cut-outs of Boldon C of E pupils hands have been tied around the school gates today. A "Hands of Our School" banner was also proudly erected to represent the strong feelings of the children.
It had been decided by parents so far, since the breaking of the news for the proposed closure as early as September 2008, that life for the children should continue as normal as possible. However the children themselves wanted to express in their own way how they feel about the proposal to possibly close their school.
The story has been followed closely by South Shields Gazette and reporters where here today to mark this occasion. We are all very proud of the children for the way they are handling what is going on at the moment. This is a demonstration of the spirit that runs through the school and this needs to continue.
